The Kuchelmißer See is a lake in the municipality of Kuchelmiß in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
The body of water has a size of about 18 hectares and maximum dimensions of 780 meters in a north-south direction and 320 meters in a west-east direction. The water level is 38.9 meters above sea level . The surrounding terrain rises up to 79 meters to the east. On the east bank, three ditches flow into the lake. Two ditches, some of which run in the adjacent nature reserve , flow to the south in the direction of Nebel . This continues to drain over the Warnow towards the Baltic Sea .
In the south and south-east of the lake the residential development of the place Kuchelmiß borders. State road 11 also runs south from Krakow am See to Teterow . On the east bank there is a swimming area and the former road to the Kuchelmißer district of Hinzenhagen, which became a dead end due to the construction of the adjacent motorway to Rostock .
According to its origins, the Kuchelmißer See is a channel lake south of the Pomeranian ice edge of the Vistula Ice Age . According to the trophic system , the water is classified as polytrophic.
