Kukinka

Kukinka (German Neu Quetzin ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to the Gmina Ustronie Morskie (rural community Henkenhagen) in the powiat Kołobrzeski (Kolberger Kreis) .

Geographical location

The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 115 kilometers northeast of Stettin and a good 10 kilometers east of Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) . The Baltic coast with the Ustronie Morskie (Henkenhagen) is about three kilometers north of the village. The neighboring village of Kukinia (Alt Quetzin) is about two kilometers south .

history

The village was laid out in 1840 when the Prussian state cleared its state forest here, divided the land and assigned it as farm positions. The new settlers' farms were laid out loosely and at greater intervals along an overland road leading from the southwest to the northeast. The resulting village was named Neu Quetzin, based on the neighboring Quetzin , which was then named Old Quetzin.

Neu Quetzin initially formed its own rural community in the Kolberg-Körlin district with a community area of ​​117 hectares (as of 1864). The Bocksberg residential area, built around 1850, also belonged to the rural community of Neu Quetzin . In 1928 the rural communities Neu Quetzin and Alt Quetzin were merged to form the new rural community Quetzin .

After 1945, New Quetzin, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. The place received the Polish place name "Kukinka".
