Kultur im Gugg is a venue for contemporary art and culture in the town of Braunau am Inn in Upper Austria .

The listed Kulturhaus im Gugg, located in the center of Braunau, was originally a fire extinguishing equipment factory of the Rupert Gugg & Sons family , but was adapted in 1989, rebuilt in 2001 and expanded into a cultural center for the city of Braunau in 2005 . The center is subsidized by the EU , the state of Upper Austria and the municipality of Braunau am Inn .

The program on offer covers the entire spectrum of contemporary culture and ranges from cabaret , concerts ( swing , blues , funk ) to theater (in-house productions). In addition to the presentation of national and international artists (Austrian premieres such as Kiki & Herb, Leo Bassi and Annie Sprinkle ), self-productivity is an important part of the program (one in-house production per year).

The 40 individual events per season are attended by an average of around 8,000 people.

The Braunau Contemporary History Days take place on the last weekend in September in the Gugg.
