Cultural film funding Schleswig-Holstein

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kulturelle Filmförderung Schleswig-Holstein eV (KFF) was founded in 1989 in Kiel to develop and promote filmmaking in Schleswig-Holstein . On July 11, 2007, the Schleswig-Holstein Cultural Film Funding and the MSH - Society for the Promotion of Audiovisual Works in Schleswig-Holstein mbH were merged with the Hamburg Film Funding . The Association for Cultural Film Funding Schleswig-Holstein eV renamed itself Filmkultur Schleswig-Holstein eV in 2017 .

The newly created Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein GmbH (FFHSH) takes on the tasks of these institutions.

The KFF promoted work with audiovisual media in two ways:

On the one hand, on application, it awarded funding twice a year for projects that were selected by an independent committee (changing annually). The amount available per year fluctuated between EUR 160,000 and EUR 225,000, which was provided by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Culture of the State of Schleswig-Holstein (MBWFK) and the Independent State Agency for Broadcasting and New Media (ULR).

On the other hand, the cultural film funding operated the film workshop in Kiel, which is still operated by the film funding Hamburg Schleswig Holstein. It serves as a funding instrument

  • to improve the infrastructure in the country,
  • to promote young talent and career changers in practical production work,
  • to professionalize media work and increase the market opportunities for media products,
  • for the qualification of media professionals through seminars in training and further education and through technical / content-related advice and support for film and media projects.

The content-oriented work of cultural film funding was carried out in conjunction with other regional and supraregional partners. It included project preparation advice on conception, calculation, implementation and funding measures for film projects and also includes project funding through partial provision of analog and digital film / video technology for cultural film, video or multimedia projects. Support for film and media professionals in the presentation, rental and sales of their products in Germany and abroad also includes the presentation of films at a separate, annual three-day film festival (" Filmfest Schleswig-Holstein Augenweide ").

In addition, the Schleswig-Holstein Cultural Film Funding publishes a monthly newsletter (the publisher was the FFHSH's Filmwerkstatt Kiel from 2007 to 2014), which can be viewed at www.infomedia-sh.org and which is sent to anyone interested by email upon request. The task of the website and newsletter is to provide up-to-date information about audiovisual media in Schleswig-Holstein.

The seat of the Kulturellen Filmförderung Schleswig-Holstein eV is in Kiel. The association is currently (February 2016) in a reorientation. Since the former film funding tasks were already transferred to the FFHSH's Filmwerkstatt Kiel with the merger in 2007, the association wants to concentrate more on representing the interests of Schleswig-Holstein film and media workers. A corresponding restructuring of the association is on the agenda for 2016.
