The Rokiškis Culture School (lit. Rokiškio kultūros mokykla ) is a formerly independent university in Rokiškis , Lithuania . The school trained librarians , recreational educators , folklore group leaders, ethnic culture and events staff, music educators, and church organists .

history

In 1967 the Rokiškis School of Culture was built in the premises of the Rokiškis Mechanical Engineering Center in Soviet Lithuania . From 1976 the librarians were also trained. The entry requirement was the completion of middle school. From 1984 onwards the leading employees of the cultural and educational work as well as group leaders in the film and photo area were trained.

From 1992 one worked together with the Vilniaus pedagoginis institutas and the Lietuvos konservatorija . With the support of the Panevėžys Diocese , the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture and the Lithuanian Ministry of Education , media educators and church organists were trained.

In 1993 the Rokiškis School of Culture was elevated to the Rokiškis College and in 2000 to the Rokiškis Higher Education School . In 2002 it was incorporated into the Panevėžio Kolegija College as a Rokiški branch . In 2012, 91 students studied at the Rokiškis branch, 54 of them face-to-face and 37 distance learning. In 2013 the branch's graduates included four music teachers, 10 tourism and leisure managers and 16 cultural managers.

7 university professors as well as 5 lecturers and two lecturers teach at the branch. The courses are pedagogy of the English language and pedagogy of the German language.
