The Art and Culture Education Center of the Museums in Nuremberg (KPZ) is a central museum education service in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region . The joint institution of the city of Nuremberg and the Germanic National Museum looks after over a dozen museums and exhibition venues.

history

In 1968 the Art Education Center (KPZ) was founded as a civil law society by the Germanisches Nationalmuseum and the city of Nuremberg, and in 1969 it started work. With its own educational mandate, it should "... expand and deepen knowledge of art, culture and history from early history to the present." To fulfill this educational mandate, the KPZ should primarily use the exhibitions and collections in Nuremberg.

In 1982 the “Adults and Families” department was set up. In 1984 the KPZ designed one of the first cultural-historical exhibitions on migration from Turkey with “Merhaba - Living and Working in Turkey” at the GNM. In 2002 it was renamed "Art and Culture Pedagogical Center of the Museums in Nuremberg". The own educational mandate was given up in favor of integration into the general museum educational mandate.
