Art Garden (Pasewalk)

The KunstgARTen is a five- hectare park in Pasewalk in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

At the beginning of the 21st century, the meadow landscape along the Uecker was created under the name Art and Culture Landscape Ueckeraue . The community made a five-hectare meadow between the Uecker and Bundesstraße 109 available to art. In May 2005 she opened the KunstgARTen there in order to make “German and international garden culture and the way of life tangible in a shared park landscape”. In the years that followed, artists created works of art with the help of plants. For example, Jolanta Wagner and her husband Marek used trees that were cut down in the Ueckern lowlands and replanted them. Under the title The Paths of Europe, Ping Qiu recreated the national borders of Europe in 2006 with the help of plants and flowers as well as old paving stones .

The Federal Foreign Office included the garden in the cultural projects for the German-Polish Year in 2005 and 2006 . In 2009, the Germany - Land of Ideas initiative recognized the project as a Selected Location . The garden is part of the Art Route Vorpommern .
