Kunstverein Kunsthaus Potsdam

The Kunstverein KunstHaus Potsdam eV is a registered association based in Potsdam to promote the cultural life of Potsdam with exhibitions, discussions and readings.

history

The association was founded in 2002 on the initiative of several artists and those interested in art. The association Kunsthaus Potsdam eV has its seat in the former horse hospital of the Guard-Uhlan barracks . In 2000, the artists Hubertus von der Goltz and Frank Michael Zeidler acquired the crumbling building and converted them into a place of art on their own initiative without outside funds. The original plant structure from 1869 and 1924 has been restored. The now listed ensemble houses an exhibition hall and four artist studios.

Exhibitions were shown u. a. with Armando (Holland), Gerda Meyer-Bernstein (Chicago), Arnulf Rainer (Austria), Hans Scheib , Bernd Zimmer , Maria Lassnig (Austria) and Henrik Eiben as well as various themed exhibitions, e.g. B. "Color and Paint", "By line and thread" or "Artist couples".

The chairwoman of the board of the association is Birgit Möckel.
