The Books division includes, among other things, artist monographs, topics relating to the preservation of monuments, architecture, art history, museum and exhibition catalogs (including the catalog of the State Collections of Antiquities in Munich), treatises on cultural history, the history of religion and piety, yearbooks (including the yearbook of the Association for the History of the Augsburg Diocese , the yearbook of the Association for Christian Art in Munich eV ), series of publications, company portraits and art postcards. The publisher also oversees the publication of the “Synagogue Memorial Volumes Bavaria”, a publication project of the Synagogue Memorial Association Bavaria at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau , which will run for several years and individual volumes .

With its series of small art guides, the Kunstverlag Josef Fink is one of the most important of its kind in the German-speaking area, after the Schnell und Steiner publishing house and the Deutscher Kunstverlag . Every year he brings about 30 new church leaders onto the market.

history

The publishing house was founded on January 1, 1996 by the businessman Josef Fink (born May 18, 1947), who still runs the company today. Fink, who comes from West Allgäu and previously worked for two decades at the renowned art publisher Schnell und Steiner in various positions (initially as private secretary to the publisher Hugo Schnell and finally as deputy managing director), chose his place of residence as the publishing house in the border triangle of Germany - Austria - Switzerland located Lindenberg i. Allgäu. In 2012 Josef Fink received the papal cross of honor Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice for his many years of publishing work in the interests of the Catholic Church and the Pope . In 2017 he was awarded the Lindenberg City Culture Prize.

In 2004 Fink entered into a partnership with the Beuron art publisher of the Beuron Archabbey , which has since been dissolved.
