Art publisher Peda

The art publisher Peda is a book publisher based in Patriching near Passau , which mainly publishes church and art guides and books on art and architectural photography. It was founded in the early 1980s by the Upper Silesian- born photographer Gregor Peda (* 1948).

40 to 50 new titles appear every year, with a "backlist" of around 700 titles. The series of Peda art guides has been published since 1988 with over 770 volumes to date. The circulation of the volumes is between 3,000 and 50,000 pieces. The original German text is translated into up to seven languages.

Gregor Peda was trained as a photographer at the Photo and Film Academy in Warsaw; he came to Passau with a grant from the Otto Benecke Foundation , which financed language courses for German.

The publishing house has four representative offices, including in Brixen , Vienna and Ravensburg .
