The Kupol Persej ( English transcription from Russian Купол Персей Kupol Persei , German 'Perseus-Kuppel' ) is an ice dome on the Princess Astrid coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land .
Russian scientists named it after a Soviet ship from the 1930s used for oceanographic studies in the Arctic . Among the identical geographic coordinates, an ice dome is known under the name Kupol Sadko ( Russian Купол Садко ), which was named after the icebreaker Sadko , who was also in use in the 1930s.
