The Board of Trustees of the German Business for Vocational Education and Training (KWB) in Bonn coordinates and represents the interests of business in vocational education and training . Jürgen Hollstein has been the managing director since January 2011 .

History of origin

The KWB was founded in 1970 to coordinate the common interests of business in vocational training and, in particular, to represent them vis-à-vis the ministries , the trade unions and the Conference of Ministers of Education .

The main tasks of the KWB are in the following areas:

  • Coordination of the employer's opinion-forming on positions on fundamental topics of vocational training
  • Reorganization of dual training occupations and participation in the creation of advanced training regulations
  • Public relations work through conferences, workshops and practical contributions to vocational training
  • Projects such as B. early qualification recognition.

Members of the KWB

The members of the KWB are (in alphabetical order) the Federal Chemical Employers 'Association (BAVC), the Federal Association of Liberal Professions (BfB), the Federal Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services (BGA), the Federal Association of German Employers' Associations (BDA), the German Farmers Association ( DBV), the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), the General Association of Employers' Associations in the Metal and Electrical Industry ( Gesamtmetall), the German Retail Association (HDE) and the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH).

Organs of the KWB

The KWB has a general assembly and a board of directors. The chairman of the general assembly is Gerhard F. Braun, member of the advisory board of the KOB Group. He is also Vice President of BDA and Chairman of the BDA / BDI Technical Committee Education, Vocational Training. His deputy is Stefan Lobenstein, President of the Erfurt Chamber of Crafts, member of the ZDH Presidium and Chairman of the DHKT Main Committee for Vocational Training. The chairman of the board is Ms. Esther Hartwich (DIHK), deputy Dr. Barbara Dorn (BDA) and Volker Born (ZDH). The other members are Sven-Uwe Räß (total metal), Katharina Weinert (HDE), Dr. Andreas Ogrinz (BAVC), Natasha Volodina (BFB), Denis Henkel (BGA) and Martin Lambers (DBV).

Others

The KWB looks after two working groups for commercial and industrial-technical training managers . In cooperation with the working groups and changing companies, the KWB organizes a conference for commercial training managers in spring and an event for commercial-technical training managers in autumn.
