The historic Saxon post mile pillar Altdöbern is one of the post mile pillars that were erected in the first half of the 18th century in the Electorate of Saxony on behalf of Elector Friedrich August I of Saxony by Land and Border Commissioner Adam Friedrich Zürner . It is located on the northeast corner of the market in the Brandenburg municipality of Altdöbern in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district .

history

The distance column was probably erected in 1735, when Altdöbern still had city rights and belonged to the Electorate of Saxony . After the change of Altdöbern to the Kingdom of Prussia (1815), the column got a different shape, without a coat of arms and post horns on the written part. Since then, the distances have been given in Prussian miles and the year is on the pedestal.

Between 1932 and 1934 the column was removed and later placed at the Muckwar - Pritzen road fork . There it was dismantled in 1979, restored and placed on the market at its current location on September 27, 1980.
