Kursong ( Rong : खरसाङ, Kharsang - "land of white orchids"; Bengali : কার্শিয়াং , Kārśiẏāṃ, Karshiyang ; also Karsiyang ) is a place in the Darjiling district in the Indian state of West Bengal with about 42,000 inhabitants (2011) at an altitude of 1458  m . The city was founded in 1879.

The city covers an area of ​​7.5 km² and is about 30 km from Darjiling and 47 km from Shiliguri . Kursong is connected to the rail network by the narrow-gauge line of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway .
