Kurt-Joachim Friedel

Kurt-Joachim Friedel (born April 5, 1921 in Stettin ; † January 11, 2013 in Malsfeld-Elfershausen ) was a German composer.

Life

In 1934 Kurt-Joachim Friedel received a scholarship for violins, ear training and music history at the Stern Conservatory . From 1939 he received lessons from Reda in the subjects of piano and composition and from Drwenski on the organ. From 1946 onwards he had a scholarship to teach composition with Wolfgang Jacobi in Munich and was in close contact with Fritz Büchtger from the Studio for New Music. In 1954 he devoted himself to composition with Siegfried Borris and Herbert Baumann in Berlin . His compositional work consisted mainly of sacred works.
