Kurt Artner

Kurt Artner (born June 8, 1961 in Vienna ; † October 10, 2005 , ibid) was an Austrian sports shooter .

Artner was a deputy lieutenant in the Austrian Armed Forces and one of eight Austrian Armed Forces athletes in pistol shooting. He competed in international military competitions in the disciplines of military rapid fire pistol and center fire pistol, where he has won individual and team medals since 1994 and was involved in the current Austrian military record ZF / team. At the 2nd World Military Games in Zagreb in 1999 , he won the bronze medal in the central fire pistol / team competition, the first team medal in this discipline for Austria. He was even more successful in 2000 as the vice world champion military rapid fire pistol team and winner of another bronze medal in the ZF team competition at the military world championships in Ankara .

As part of the Schützenbund, he took part in several international tournaments and European championships as a member of the national team in the air, standard and center fire pistol disciplines. He also won team and individual medals, including the bronze medal standard pistol team at the EM 2003 in Pilsen . He is also the holder of the Austrian records center fire team as well as LP 5 individual and team.

From a UN mission in Cyprus he brought three trophies from military competitions of the contingents stationed there from eight nations.

At the annual military command area championships he was a total of nine times military command area master with the pistol 80 and with the assault rifle 77 (StG 77) in the individual and team competitions.
