Kurt Bauer (born February 18, 1906 in Hamburg ; † October 28, 1981 there ) was a Hamburg artist and sculptor .

Kurt Bauer received his training from 1931 to 1935 at the Kunstgewerbeschule am Lerchenfeld and since 1936 had smaller, building-related, public art commissions. He was one of the most frequently employed "art-in-building artists". Since 1950 he has mainly produced animal sculptures in schools, new development areas, parks and on playgrounds. In the Hamburg area he is represented with over 70 plants.

For the Matthias-Claudius-Gymnasium in Hamburg-Wandsbek , which reopened after the war , he created a sculpture made of flat iron, "Flying Swans". The work of art first adorned the school auditorium and is now on the east facade of the school building. Since 1965, "three flying swans" made of flat iron have also adorned the facade of the Haus der Jugend Kiwittsmoor , Tweeltenbek 27, in Hamburg-Langenhorn .

In 1962 Kurt Bauer's bronze sculpture "Owls" was erected on the site of the Asklepios Klinik Nord ( Ochsenzoll branch ) in Hamburg-Langenhorn.

In Hammer Park , his bronze sculpture "Owl Tree" is from 1966 and in Kellinghusen Park its terracotta sculpture "Lynx".
