Kurt Brüggemann (soccer player)
Kurt Brüggemann (born November 14, 1926 ) is a former German soccer player. From 1949 to 1959 he played for Lokomotive Stendal in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .
Athletic career
From 1949 to 1959 Kurt Brüggemann played 266 point games for Lok Stendal, 215 of them in the GDR league. This made him the most frequently used player in the 1st team of the BSG Lok within the ten seasons played in this period. Only Ernst Lindner was able to outdo him in 1970 with 369 missions. In his ten seasons, in which 286 point games were played, Brüggemann only missed 20 games, with nine missed games in his last season in 1959 (calendar year game rhythm). With Lok Stendal he was relegated from the league three times (1954, 1957 and 1959), but just as often rose again immediately. Brüggemann began in the 1949/50 league season as a defender, but was then used in midfield until the end of his career. He scored thirteen goals between 1950 and 1955, with seven goals in the GDR league season 1954/55, his most successful season as a goalscorer.
