Kurt Burchard

Kurt Burchard (born March 4, 1864 in Königsberg , † January 13, 1933 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German legal scholar . He taught at the universities of Leipzig and Frankfurt am Main .

Life

In 1892 Kurt Burchard qualified as a professor at the University of Leipzig for German law and legal history with a work on teaching about the handling of German courts in the Middle Ages . In the same year he became a private lecturer at the law faculty , which appointed him in 1897 as an associate professor .

As a full professor, Burchard went to the Academy for Social and Commercial Sciences in 1901, the year it was founded. In 1905, he also served as director of the Academy.

The University of Frankfurt am Main emerged from the academy and other institutes in 1914. Burchard continued his full professorship there and was rector's office in 1923/1924. He held the professorship until 1929. He died in 1933 at the age of 68.
