Kurt Busiek

Kurt Busiek (born September 16, 1960 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is an American comic book author. He is known for his work for DC Comics and Marvel Comics , as well as for the Kurt Busiek's Astro City series that he created .

Life

Due to a parental ban, Busiek did not start reading comics until he was fourteen. In high school and college, he was friends with Scott McCloud, who was his age , with whom he drew comics. His first professional contribution was a story about Green Lantern in 1983.

He then worked for the two large American publishers DC and Marvel, including the series Superman and Avengers . In 1995 he created the superhero series at Image Comics about the city of Astro City , for which he has received several awards. In its most recent form, the series has been running at DC Comics since 2013.

Kurt Busiek lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two daughters .

Awards

Kurt Busiek has received several awards for his work. including the 1998 Harvey Award in the Best Writer category . A year later he also received the Eisner Award in the same category .
