Kurt Geier

Kurt Geier (born March 6, 1879 in Eisenberg ; † November 15, 1950 in Altenburg ) was a German lawyer , civil servant and politician ( NLP , DNVP , DVP ).

Geier went through a study of law, he with the promotion of Dr. jur. finished. Later he worked as a civil servant in the higher administrative service and worked as a Landesbank director in Altenburg . During the time of the German Empire he was a member of the National Liberal Party (NLP) and from 1910 to 1918 a member of the state parliament in the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg . After the November Revolution, he first joined the German National People's Party (DNVP), but then switched to the German People's Party (DVP). Geier was a member of the Thuringian state parliament from 1920 to 1932, where he temporarily held the office of vice president. From December 17, 1925 to April 29, 1927 he served as State Councilor for Altenburg in the government of the State of Thuringia .
