Kurt Herrmann (politician)

Kurt Herrmann (born April 2, 1903 in Berlin , † July 12, 1950 in Rostock ) was a German politician ( LDP ). He was an East Berlin city ​​councilor and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

After completing his studies, Herrmann worked as a graduate engineer in various companies. From 1945 he was district chairman of the LDP in Berlin-Treptow . On December 12, 1946, he became a member of the Treptow district office and head of the employment office . He served on the board of the Standing Committee on Unity and Just Peace .

In May 1948 he was elected to the provisional board of the LDP working group in the East Sector of Berlin, which was in opposition to the Berlin LDP regional association under Carl-Hubert Schwennicke , and together with the head of the "Landesgruppe Berlin", Reinhold Schwarz , with the Organization of a delegate election and subsequent board election commissioned. In June 1948 he was elected treasurer by the delegates' assembly of the LDP working group in Berlin.

With the formation of the Magistrate of Greater Berlin in the Soviet sector on November 30, 1948, he took over the municipal operations department as a city councilor. After the structural change in administration in 1950, he became head of the trade and supply department. In May 1949 he became a member of the 2nd People's Council of the Soviet Zone and, after the founding of the GDR in October 1949, of the Provisional People's Chamber of the GDR.

Herrmann died at the age of 47 while on vacation from the consequences of an operation.
