Kurt Hickethier

Kurt Hickethier (born October 22, 1891 in Nebra ; † February 2, 1958 in Dies ) was a German alternative doctor and became known for his further development of the facial analysis according to Wilhelm Heinrich Schüßler , which he called "Sonnerschau". During the sun show, alleged mineral deficiencies are determined on the basis of features on a person's face, which are then to be compensated by the administration of Schuessler salts .

Hickethier was a police secretary by profession. Through his illness from Bechterew's disease , Kurt Hickethier came across the healing method of Wilhelm Schüßler. This impressed him so much that he further developed Schüßler's facial analysis. He checked his findings on himself first and was supposedly able to bring his disease to a standstill and live symptom-free for more than 40 years.

After his research, which did not meet scientific standards, Hickethier went public. He built two spa houses in which, in addition to the sun show, he also offered health baths and backbone care (a special nerve massage). In recognition of his research in facial analysis, he was awarded the Doctor of Naturopathy by the Pittsburgh College of Naturopathy / USA , an alternative medicine institution, in 1926 . From then on, Hickethier was troubled by the increasing resistance of science to his method.

In 1938, the NSDAP imposed a professional ban on Hickethier for "political reasons" . Despite persecution, confiscation of his two spa buildings and the expropriation of all his property by the Russian occupying forces, he was able to continue his treatment after his escape to western Germany.
