Kurt Jax

Kurt Jax (born January 1, 1958 in Bonn ) is a German biologist and nature conservation scientist.

Life

Jax is a professor at the Technical University of Munich and Deputy Head of the Department of Conservation Biology at the Center for Environmental Research UFZ . Jax researches the acceptance of nature conservation measures in Germany and worldwide. He conducts interdisciplinary research on strategies and concepts of applied nature conservation .

Jax on a project in Chile: " The question of which exotic species are considered desirable or undesirable under which conditions is always a question of evaluation. Environmental ethics cannot provide simple answers. But it helps to structure the space of arguments and to objectify the debate. "
