Præstø Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the town of Præstø in the south of the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Bårse Herred in what was then Præstø Amt , then to Præstø Kommune in Storstrøms Amt , which was incorporated into Vordingborg Municipality in the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of the local government reform .

1795 of the 3814 inhabitants of the former community center Præstø live in the parish of the same name (as of January 1, 2020). In the parish is the church “Præstø Kirke”.

Neighboring communities are Skibinge Sogn in the south and Beldringe Sogn in the west , and in the neighboring Næstved community to the north, Snesere Sogn .
