Stensby Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the south of the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Bårse Herred in what was then Præstø Amt , then to Langebæk Municipality in Storstrøms Amt , which was merged into Vordingborg Municipality in the Sjælland region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .

1,866 inhabitants live in the parish, 1,532 of them in the city of Stensved (as of January 1, 2020). In the parish is the church "Stensby Kirke".

Neighboring municipalities are Vordingborg Sogn in the north-west, Øster Egesborg Sogn in the north and Kalvehave Sogn in the north-east .
