Mern Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the south of the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Bårse Herred in what was then Præstø Amt , then to Langebæk Municipality in Storstrøms Amt , which was merged into Vordingborg Municipality in the Sjælland region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .

The parish has 1,521 inhabitants, 1,031 of them in the parish (as of January 1, 2020). The church "Mern Kirke" is located in the parish.

Neighboring communities are Allerslev Sogn in the north, Øster Egesborg Sogn in the west and Kalvehave Sogn in the south .
