Haake & Albers
Haake & Albers was a company based in Frankfurt am Main in the 19th century that sold supplies for photographers . As an addition to the company, the company appeared with descriptions such as “Factory, wholesale shipping & storage of supplies for photography” or “Factory & warehouse for all articles for photography”.
At the beginning of the 20th century, another company headquarters in Berlin is described. The company existed with changing owners and corporate forms and was dissolved in 1997.
history
According to an entry in the address book of the city of Frankfurt am Main from 1910, the company was founded in 1875. The full entry is as follows:
- Haake & Albers, founded in 1875, Hoflief. Your. Majesty d. Queen v. Sweden a. Sr. Kgl. Hey d. Crown Prince v. Greece, factory & Warehouse all Article f. Photography, Kaiserstraße 36 pt. U. ent. (Tel. 2956). ... Branch: Berlin C., Poststr. 6th owner Theod. Haake et al. Paul boy shoe.
The first entry in the address book can already be found in the address book from 1880. Here it is stated: Photogr. Items. E Theodor Haake and Joh. Georg Albers with the address Senckenbergstr. 3p.
Over the period of the 20th century, the company continued to exist with changing addresses and also changing owners and corporate forms, most recently as "Ringfoto Haake & Albers GmbH" in Grosse Bockenheimer Strasse (commonly known as Freßgass ) No. 45 in Frankfurt am Main. According to entry in the commercial register no. HRB 26553, the company was dissolved by a decision of the Frankfurt am Main local court on October 14, 1997, “as a result of the bankruptcy being rejected for lack of assets”. And further with the date of March 20, 2000: "The company is officially deleted according to § 141 a FGG".
Products
Cardboard carrier
- The company advertised Cartes de Visite on the lapel of cardboard carriers with its company imprint as the manufacturer or distributor of these forms (see picture above). So far it has only been claimed on websites that the company itself also acted as a printing and lithographic institute . Well-known are the company's additional prints on cardboard photo carriers by Wilhelm Höffert and by “Atelier Schrader” from Einsiedeln in the Swiss canton of Schwyz .
Cameras
- The " Dr. R. Krüger's pocket book camera "(also called" Krügener's Patent Book Camera ") was manufactured and sold by Haake & Albers. It cost 60 marks around 1880.
- Haake & Albers manufactured a stereo camera called "Victoria".
- a “Studio camera" Haake & Albers ", around 1910” was described by an auctioneer: “Format 24 × 24 cm, marked: Haake & Albers, Berlin and Frankfurt, precious wood housing, black square bellows, with Voigtlander Heliar 4.5 / 36 cm , Grundner lock (without function), ground glass back and 2 cassettes, with studio tripod, height with camera: 150 cm, crank drive. "
