Kurt Lehmann (* August 18, 1921 ; † 1996 ) was a German football player who was active in the 1950s with the BSG Einheit Ost Leipzig in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

When the newly founded second-class league of the German Sports Committee , later referred to as the GDR League , entered its first season in 1950/51 , the company sports community (BSG) was alsoUnity East Leipzig at the start. 19-year-old Kurt Lehmann was part of their football squad. In the 18 league games he was used 11 times and came to four goals. Of the 22 games of the 1951/52 league season, he played 15 games and scored four goals again. When the BSG Einheit Ost rose to the GDR league in 1953, Lehmann was only involved with twelve of 24 point games and had no scoring. For the league season 1953/54 Lehmann was nominated as a midfielder. As such, he also played the first eight games, but then had to pause at seven point games. He was only used again from the 16th league game, came to 21 missions by the end of the season, but remained goalless. In the league season 1954/55 he played the first seven point games. In November 1954 the soccer section of the BSG Einheit Ost was taken over by the newly founded Rotation Leipzig sports club. Several BSG players did not make the change, including Kurt Lehmann. With two other teammates he joined the GDR league clubBSG Rotation Nordost Leipzig . This had to play 18 league games by the end of the season, of which Lehmann played twelve games in which he was able to score two goals. Then Rotation NO rose in the new third-class II. GDR league , and Lehmann's career in the higher-class football game was ended. There he had completed 28 league games (one goal) and 50 GDR league games (ten goals) within five seasons.
