Kurt Link (born January 9, 1926 in Cologne , † December 27, 1996 in Düsseldorf ) was a sculptor , draftsman , conceptual artist and painter .

Link studied at the Düsseldorf Academy from 1945 to 1949 . Together with Joseph Beuys and Erwin Heerich , he was a student from the very beginning in Ewald Mataré's class . He had a lifelong friendship with Joseph Beuys. Both artists valued their work highly.

Kurt Link was represented in all the important exhibitions of the 1950s and 1960s. In Düsseldorf and Essen museums and public places are accentuated by his sculptures. Kurt Link was always a painter too. Early on he received the silver medal of the “Prix Europe” for painting from the city of Ostend .

Since 1950 solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad, including Avantgarde in the Museum Trier, Young West in the Museum Recklinghausen, in the Municipal Art Museum in the Ehrenhof , together with Herbert Zangs (both artists were awarded the “Prix Europe” in Ostend), gallery Ludorff Düsseldorf (The Nude in 20th Century Art). Execution of numerous public and private works in schools, parks and squares, including the fountain sculpture called "Goldfinger" on Jan-Wellem-Platz in Düsseldorf, a drinking fountain sculpture in Grugapark , Essen and a sculpture as part of the EUROGA art trail in Meerbusch ("Ewald Mataré and his students")
