Kurt Nieher

Kurt Nieher (born November 6, 1898 - April 29, 1968 ) was a German football player.

Athletic career

Kurt Nieher spent his entire playing career at the Chemnitz Ballspielclub . Especially during the heyday of the CBC, in the mid-twenties, the striker was one of the club's best-known players. This resulted in several appointments to the Central German selection.

Nieher's greatest success was winning the Central German Cup (3-2 win over VfB Leipzig ) in 1927, where he distinguished himself as a goalscorer. In the following final round of the German championship in 1927 he was defeated by the later champions 1. FC Nürnberg with 1: 5, here too Nieher was able to score the honorary goal for his club. In 1927 and 1929 Nieher reached the final of the Central German Championship with the CBC, but was defeated by VfB Leipzig (0: 4) and Dresdner SC (2: 3).

After the Second World War , Nieher worked as a trainer for the no longer existing SG Chemnitz West until 1950 .
