Kurt Roesmer

Kurt Roesmer (born July 20, 1934 ) is a German table tennis player with his performance zenith in the 1950s and 1960s. He took part in the table tennis world championship in 1959 .

Career

In 1954, Roesmer became Oberfrankenmeister. Up until this year he played for 1. FC Bayreuth , but has now moved to Jahn Nürnberg . In 1959 he returned to FC Bayreuth before joining the TTC Burgkunstadt (Oberliga) in 1961 .

In 1959 Roesmer was nominated for the individual competitions of the World Cup in Dortmund . Here he was eliminated in the first round against Akbar Shirazi (Iran). The doubles with Roland Süßmann also failed in the opening round to the Swedes Nils Erik Svensson / Sven Erik Backlin. In a mixed with Brigitte Weigert , Roesmer survived the first round against George Evans / Betty Gray (Wales) and reached the last 64, where it was the final destination against Viktor Hirsch / Margit Wanek (Austria).

Later Roesmer belonged to the association BSV 1898 Bayreuth, where he acted as head of department from 1983 to 1998 and dedicated himself to youth work.
