Brigitte Weigert grew up in Berlin-Charlottenburg and moved to Starnberg after the Second World War . Here she graduated from high school and then studied in Munich with Professor Eduard Ege . In the mid-1970s, after the end of her table tennis career, she made several stays in Italy and Greece to study various painting techniques. A stay at Stud Lipica inspired her to paint horse motifs. Other motifs were Bavaria in all seasons with the watercolor technique as well as flowers and blossoms. Successful exhibitions in various Munich galleries followed.

From the beginning of the 1980s she worked as a course instructor in painting courses and as an artist for the Münchner Stadtanzeiger (= a regular local section of the Süddeutsche Zeitung ). Institutions such as large banks decorated their own printed matter and rooms with their work. Several art publishers published calendars, greeting cards and art postcards with their motifs. Many books which document places and areas in Bavaria are illustrated with their watercolors and drawings. As a member of the Munich Artists' Cooperative, she exhibited annually at the Haus der Kunst in Munich.

Brigitte Weigert went blind in 1999. As a result, she ended her artistic activities and withdrew until her death in 2007.
