Kurt Schellhammer (born July 18, 1935 ) is a German legal scholar and President of the District Court of Konstanz a. D.

Life

Schellhammergasse studied 1956-1960 jurisprudence at the University of Freiburg and the University of Bonn . He passed the 2nd state examination in the fall of 1963. He was then hired as a court assessor in the judicial service of the state of Baden-Württemberg, where he initially worked as a public prosecutor at the Konstanz public prosecutor's office. From then on, Konstanz was to become Schellhammer's professional and private center of life. With effect from January 1, 1967, Schellhammer moved to the district court of Konstanz , where he was appointed judge at the district court . On November 1, 1972, he was appointed presiding judge at the Constance Regional Court. He then chaired the Chamber for almost exactly 20 years. In 1991 the office of Vice President of the Constance Regional Court was added for a short time before he changed to the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe as presiding judge with effect from March 31, 1992 . At the end of his legal career, Schellhammer returned to "his" regional court in Konstanz, where he was appointed President on July 18, 1997. He was retired in the summer of 2000.

Schellhammer is the author of several books on civil law , which, in contrast to other textbooks , explain the respective area of ​​law according to the basis of claims .
