Kurt Schubert (politician)

Kurt Schubert (born November 26, 1926 in Zerbst ) is a German craftsman and former politician ( NDPD ). From 1971 to 1981 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Schubert, the son of a craftsman, attended elementary school and learned to be an electrician from 1945 to 1948 . After completing his apprenticeship, he worked as an electric fitter until 1953. In 1948 he became a member of the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) and passed the master craftsman's examination in 1953. From 1953 to 1960 he worked as a self-employed master craftsman. In 1960 he was a co-founder of the “Merag” production cooperative (PGH) and from 1963 chairman of the “Elektro” Zerbst PGH. Schubert joined the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD) in 1961 and was a member of the NDPD district committee in Zerbst from 1967 to 1975 . From 1968 to 1972 he attended the college for finance in Gotha with the degree as "economist of the local supply economy ". From 1965 to 1970 he was a member of the Zerbst district council and from 1971 to 1981 of the People's Chamber of the GDR. In 1973 he attended the central party school of the NDPD in Waldsieversdorf . Schubert was awarded the GDR Medal of Merit and as an activist . He is married, has three children and lived in Jütrichau in 1986 .
