Kurt Zimmer (born July 29, 1924 in Saarbrücken ; † January 19, 2008 ibid) was a German canoeist who competed for the Saarland .

biography

Kurt Zimmer was a member of the Saarland delegation at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki . Together with Heinrich Hess he started in a two-person kayak over 10,000 meters , where they finished 12th. On the following day, the duo retired in the race over 1000 meters in the lead. Two years later, the two took part in the 1954 World Championships.

Zimmer was also active as a canoe trainer for the Saarland youth team. In the 1970s he coached the men's volleyball team of the Saarbrücken Canoe Club .
