Kurchatov gold medal
The Kurchatov Gold Medal ( Russian Золотая медаль имени И. В. Курчатова ) is an award in nuclear physics and technology awarded by the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1962 . It is named after Igor Wassiljewitsch Kurtschatow . In Soviet times it was awarded every three years between 1962 and 1989 and again in Russia from 1998, albeit at irregular intervals between two and five years.
