The Kuze ( Japanese 久 世 氏 , Kuze-shi ) were a family of the Japanese sword nobility ( Buke ) from the province of Mikawa , which was derived from the Murakami Genji . With an income of 43,000 Koku , the Kuze residing in Sekiyado ( Chiba Prefecture ) belonged to the larger Fudai daimyo of the Edo period .

genealogy

  • Hironobu ( 廣 宜 ; 1561-1626) was a vassal of Tokugawa Ieyasu and served him on all of his campaigns.
  • Hiroyuki ( 廣 之 ; 1600–1679) was promoted to daimyo after the death of his father and in 1665 received the Sekiyado domain ( Shimousa Province ) with 35,000 Koku. His descendants resided in Niwase ( Bitchū ) from 1683 , in Kameyama ( Tamba ) with 45,000 Koku from 1686 , in Yoshida ( Mikawa ) from 1697 , and again in Sekiyado with 53,000 Koku from 1705. They stayed there until 1868, with an income of 43,000 koku later. After 1868 Vice Count .

  2. Depending on their current position in Bakufu, the Kuze moved into one or the other residence near the residence of the shogun.
