The Kvævenutane ( Norwegian for kettle peaks ) are a small group of mountains in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . In the payer group of Hoelfjella they rise up 3 km southwest of Kvævefjellet . The group includes Mount Kibal'chich and Mount Brounov .
The mountains were discovered and mapped using aerial photographs during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Another mapping based on aerial photographs was carried out during the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). Their participants named the group based on the name of Kvævefjellet.
