Květa Hrušková

Květa Hrušková (born June 25, 1925 - January 30, 2012 ) was a Czechoslovak table tennis player . She won three silver medals at world championships in the 1940s and 1950s .

Career

Květa Hrušková was national Czechoslovakian champion six times, in 1952 and 1957 in singles, 1954 and 1957 in doubles and in 1952 and 1954 in mixed. In addition, there is the team championship in 1947 and 1948 with the team from TSK Racek.

Between 1947 and 1953 she took part in four world championships . In 1949 she reached the singles final, in which she lost to the Hungarian Gizella Farkas . Also in mixed with Bohumil Váňa she came second behind Hungarians Ferenc Sidó / Gizella Farkas. A year later, in 1950 , the same pairings faced each other in the mixed final, with the Hungarians again having the upper hand. At this World Cup in 1950 she won bronze in doubles with Eliška Krejčová and in the team competition. In 1949 Květa Hrušková finished fourth in the ITTF world rankings .

In 1964 Květa Hrušková ended her career as a competitive athlete. 25 years later she played in veterans tournaments again.
