The Kvassknatten ( Norwegian for pointed ledge ) is a nunatak in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . He belongs to the Knattebrauta group in Sverdrupfjella .

The first aerial photographs were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also gave it its name, mapped it based on surveys and aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) from 1958 to 1959.
