The Kvina is a river that flows through the Kvinesdal valley in Fylke Agder in southern Norway and flows into the Fedafjord .
The Kvina has a natural tributary, the Litleåna . The original catchment area covered 1,445 km². The Kvina was strongly regulated by the Sira-Kvina Power Cap . The water from 809 km² (56%) of the original catchment area is diverted to the neighboring river Sira in the Sirdal valley . The river (including the Litleåna) had an average discharge of 81 m³ / s before regulation. Today this is only 32 m³ / s.
The Kvina now carries salmon all the way to Rafoss , on a river stretch of 13 km. In the tributary Litleåna, the salmon reach Åmot, 1 km upstream.
