The Kvitsvodene ( Norwegian for White Slopes ) are an icy valley about 8 km in length in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . It lies between the Kvitkjølen and Robinheia mountain ranges in Sverdrupfjella .
The first aerial photographs were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939). Norwegian cartographers mapped the valley using aerial photographs taken by the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (NBSAE, 1949–1952) and the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
