Kwariati ( Georgian კვარიათი ) is a district of Batumi in the Adjara Autonomous Republic in western Georgia .

It is located about 13 kilometers southwest of the city center of Batumi on the coast of the Black Sea . Kwariati consists of two parts: the larger, popular seaside resort located directly on the coast, also called Gonios Kwariati ( გონიოს კვარიათი ) because of its proximity to the Gonio to the north , and the part located about 1.5 kilometers south in the mountains, the corresponding Semo Kwariati ( ზემო კვარიათი , "Upper Kwariati") or because of its proximity to the southern border village of Sarpi, it is also called Sarpis Kwariati ( სარფის კვარიათი ).

Kwariati belonged for a long time to the municipality of Chelwachauri , which had emerged from the Rajon of the same name formed in the 1960s . By resolution of July 15, 2011 with effect from January 1, 2013, the two districts - as well as the municipal seat of Chelvachauri and 13 other localities - were attached to the city of Batumi, which is directly subordinate to the Autonomous Republic. At the last census before the incorporation, Gonios Kwariati had 317 and Sarpis Kwariati 98, so a total of 415 inhabitants (2002).
