Kwitky ( Ukrainian Квітки ; Russian Квитки Kwitki ) is a village in the center of Ukraine in Cherkassy Oblast with about 1,300 inhabitants (2001).
history
The village was founded in the 17th century and is the birthplace of the Ukrainian composer Kyrylo Stetsenko , to whom a museum is dedicated in the place. A settlement from the Chernyakhov culture was found in the municipality .
geography
Kwitky is the only village in the district of the same name in the south of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi district . The district center of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi is 14 km north, the Oblast center Cherkassy 100 km northeast of the village.
