The Kyōgatake ( Japanese. 経 ヶ 岳 , dt. "Sutrenberg") is a 2296.3 m high mountain in the prefecture of Nagano on the Japanese main island of Honshū .
It belongs to the Kiso Mountains in the center of the Japanese Alps and is located on the border of the municipalities of Minamiminowa and Tatsuno with foothills to Shiojiri . At the top there are two sanctuaries, a Buddha and a stone pagoda. It is the highest of the mountains in Japan, the name of which is dedicated to a sutra .
