The Kyburz Switzerland AG is a Swiss company and supplier of electric vehicles in Freienstein-Teufen , the u. a. equips the Swiss Post .

Company history

Since it was founded in 1991, the owner Martin Kyburz has continued to develop the electric tricycle. Kyburz AG achieved its first commercial success with its Kyburz Classic . A post delivery vehicle was developed from 2002, the first large deliveries of which took place in 2009 to Deutsche Post and in 2010 to Swiss Post. In 2011, Kyburz won the Swiss Post Innovation Award for its product. In 2013, Kyburz AG was awarded a special stamp by Swiss Post for its innovative DXP product. In the same year, Kyburz AG was selected as the most innovative company by Bilanz magazine . The production was expanded for the first time in 2014 due to the increasing growth. As an innovative company, the electric roadster eRod was presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016 . A year later, the type approval for Switzerland and shortly afterwards also for the EU followed. In the same year Kyburz AG continued to grow and founded a subsidiary in Germany and Australia. Shortly afterwards in 2018 the first field tests with DXP were carried out in Australia. In 2019, Kyburz AG supplied the Australian Post for the first time with 1,000 DXP. The corporate concept is geared towards a complete service, which in addition to development, production and sales of the vehicles also includes their service and maintenance.

Classic

With the first series vehicle, the senior citizen's vehicle Kyburz Classic , a contribution should be made to maintaining personal mobility, especially in a more rural area. A Kyburz Classic vehicle from the Type 57 prototype series has found its way into the national transport collection in the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne.

DXP

With the Kyburz DXP mail delivery vehicle , the company also achieved a breakthrough in terms of urban appearance. The postman’s new vehicle has also received its own stamp as part of the self-promotion of the Swiss Post . In 2015, more than 5000 Kyburz DXP were in use at postal companies in Switzerland, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. The Australian Post also relies on the DXP from Switzerland. By the end of 2020, over 2,000 vehicles will be in use across the continent. The DXP for Australia differ in the configuration adapted to the requirements of the influences. For example, the DXP for Australia is equipped with a thin pane of glass that protects against ultraviolet radiation or a spring-loaded seat as a measure against poor road conditions.

DXC

In Germany, the DXC rolls through the streets of Reutlingen as Agent Orange. The Kyburz vehicle is used to keep the bike paths clean. The storage space offers space to transport equipment from scratches against weeds to leaf blowers.

Auto eTrolley

The eT4 is a prototype and is on the road as an autonomously driving delivery platform. It is the 4th generation of autonomous delivery systems and was first presented at the Amsterdam fair in 2019. [4] It is being tested how Euro pallets can be delivered autonomously. The vehicle is primarily intended to be used as a commercial vehicle, so the design is also rather simple.

erod

The 120 km / h electric vehicle emerged from a bachelor thesis by Swiss design and automotive engineering students. Today the vehicle is street legal in Switzerland and the EU.

Fleet management

The fleet management provides operational data for vehicles. A fleet box is installed, which provides data on position, battery temperature, electricity or fuel consumption. The Kyburz company programs the telemetry data itself in order to achieve greater flexibility. The data support ecological driving styles or are used to monitor refrigerated transports.

2ndLife

Every year, 600 - 800 DXPs are bought back by Swiss Post. The vehicles that have been in use for years are checked and then factory revised. The vehicles come back on the market with a 2-year factory guarantee.
