Kyel Romaine Reid (born November 26, 1987 in London ) is an English football player . The ex-academy player from West Ham United is mostly used in left midfield .

Career

Reid comes from West Ham United's youth work . He made his debut for the club's first team in the Premier League on May 1, 2006 against West Bromwich Albion . To collect match practice, Reid was loaned to Barnsley FC , playing in the Football League Championship , in November 2006 until the end of the 2006/07 season. Other loan stations were Crystal Palace (March to April 2008), Blackpool FC (November 2008 to the end of the year) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (January to June 2009). Since the possibilities with the "Hammers" remained limited, Reid decided to sign a two-year contract for the 2009/10 season with the second division team Sheffield United . There he did not get beyond the status of a substitute, played from the end of January 2010 on loan for third division club Charlton Athletic and signed a permanent contract with the "Addicks" after the end of the 2009/10 season.

Reid was also used by various youth and junior selection teams, most recently the U-19 selection, of the English Association. In 2004 he took part in the U-17 European Championship in France, where he was able to score the only goal of the English in their semi-final defeat against France.
