Kyle Poole

Kyle Poole (* around 1994 in Los Angeles ) is an American modern jazz musician ( drums ) .

Live and act

Poole came to New York City in 2011 at the age of 17, where he has since worked with musicians such as Paul Jeffrey , George Cables , Jeremy Pelt , Mike LeDonne , Peter Bernstein , Frank Lacy , Stacy Dillard and Joel Frahm . In 2012 he was a semi-finalist in the Thelonious Monk competition . He was also a member of Eric Wyatt's band , to be heard on the albums Borough of Kings (2013), a. a. with Duane Eubanks , and Look to the Sky (2016). Recordings were also made with Sandy Taylor ( Standard Deviation , 2013), Massimo Faraò ( Swingin ' , 2017) and Mark Kavuma ( Kavuma , 2018). In 2016 he performed with Wynton Marsalis & The Young Stars of Jazz at the Jazz Festival in Marciac . Currently (2019) he plays in the trio of saxophonist Charles Owens and leads the band Poole and The Gang , with whom he performs in New York jazz clubs such as The Jazz Gallery .
