Länsrätt

Länsrätten in Gothenburg
A Länsrätt was the administrative court of first instance in Sweden from 1979 to February 14, 2010. There was a Länsrätt in every Swedish Län , with the exception of Västra Götalands län , in which there are three due to the previous division (in Gothenburg , Vänersborg and Mariestad ). Appeals against decisions of the Länsrätt are given to the Kammarrätt and further to the Regeringsrätten (since 2011 Högsta förvaltningsdomstolen ).
These courts were established in 1979 to control administrative decisions. Since 2006 the courts in Gothenburg , Malmö and Stockholm acted as courts for immigration law ( migrationsdomstol ).
On February 15, 2010 the Länsrätter were replaced by Förvaltningsrätter .
